The Things You First Must Learn Before Visiting Tanzania
Whenever someone talks about visiting Africa, there really isn’t that much interest in the country of Tanzania. However, not a lot of people realize that there are so many wonderful things in the country that make it worthy of a visit one day. So, if you’re thinking a vacation that includes nature trekking, safaris, and island recreation, then you should give Tanzania some serious thought. The truth is there actually are so many things you will love doing in the country once you make that visit.
But similar to going or visiting to any other country for the first time, it is important that you first learn things about Tanzania so that your travel won’t become a disappointment.
1 – Bring the best shoes for walking.
Typically, when you visit far away places for a holiday or vacation, your suitcase will be filled with sandals and flip-flops, because all you need is light footwear. But that no longer works if your destination is Tanzania. Because you expect to be doing a lot of walking in rough, uneven, steep, and even muddy terrain, it means you must be bringing maybe a pair of trainers or reliable and durable walking shoes.
2 – You still need to book in advance even if travel is relatively cheaper.
It’s no secret that traveling to Tanzania is cheap, but just like when you’re booking a flight or any other mode of transportation to any place in the world, you have to book in advance or risk the possibility of booking late and ending up seeing that all transportation methods have already been booked for several weeks.
3 – The people in Tanzania are great.
There is no denying that some places in Africa have better and more popular tourist destinations, but one thing that makes Tanzania unique is that its people are so friendly and hospitable. Although the country is ethnically diverse, most ethnic groups will welcome you with open arms and are even very willing to showcase their cultures to you.
4 – Be sure you bring with you your Visa.
If you plan on visiting Tanzania, you need to have a visa because foreign nationals like you will be asked for one, regardless of the purpose of your visit, be it for pleasure or business. But it is also worthy of mention that some Asian and African nationals actually can enter the country with a visa, but the visit is limited for three months.
5 – You have to be ready to adapt to a new environment.
Finally, considering the fact that you’re entering a tropical environment, it means you might have to prepare yourself, more specifically by taking some health precautions. For one, be sure you’re drinking bottled water all the way and ask your doctor on how you can protect yourself from mosquitoes.
